Deerhoof
Yo, yo, yo… just got back from a Deerhoof show in Oakland and it was the sickness. The show was at the Metro which is only notable ‘cause the venue is next to a porno shop. Kind of funny to think that some dude was trying to yank one off to Anal Vixens of Texas and losing his erection when the trumpet scatters its awful sound.
Deerhoof is clean tone riff rock with blast beats. A collection of contradictions and frequently annoying beyond belief, they have the ability to amaze. And tonight they were amazing. Saddly, they did not play Beep Beep.
