Whiskey Pissed and South Bound

In my youth I fell madly in love with the snowboard films of The Seans (Kearns and Johnson). These Bukowski-like post-adolescent delinquents from Canuckistan captured the spirit of post-MTV, pre-Internet Boardlordism with the freighting clarity of pure grain alcohol. Much like the Nation of Ulysses--their polar-opposites from Washington, D.C.--the influence and outright imitation of these unsung heroes is blatantly obvious in today’s music television and social networking websites. New Jack Motherfuckers, learn your roots--www.thewhiskeydocumentary.com.

While I gave-up snowboarding in 1998 and I’ve never run around a super-market in a clown suit, the Whiskey videos strengthened my attraction to snowy mountains. Some action shots from Alpental, Washington.
